Mission Statement
The Pikangikum Education Authority is committed to providing a quality education in the community. The PEA Trustees discharge their mandate by providing an educational program for the students of Pikangikum that encourages pride in their language and cultural heritage and supports their educational aspirations.
The objectives of the PEA education system are to:
- Encourage use of the Anishinabe language and promote pride in our Anishinabe culture and heritage
- Develop opportunities in the school curriculum, programs and school activities that encourage student appreciation of Anishinabe culture and heritage and contribute to the development of a positive First Nations identity
- Provide a positive environment that encourages students in the pursuit of learning d) Encourage a sense of self worth and respect for others
- Deliver a varied and holistic school curriculum that provides programs and activities to encourage the development of civic, social and moral responsibilities f) Encourage excellence in teaching and high standards of performance in learning g) Provide an environment that is concerned with the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being of each student
- Promote knowledge and attitudes that will help students to participate actively and successfully in society
